Save The Date

PRINT
We really wanted to create a very unique and creative Save-The-Date material. We have researched and discussed various ideas that we found scattering over the internet. After a very lengthy planning, we decided to create a D.I.Y scratch-card-like design. Though plans were already finalized, we have only started on the design after the release of our raw photos taken from our official engagement photo-shoot. And because we started the production late, we decided to forgo the application of acrylic paint to make it really a scratch card just to release them as early as possible to our guests. We even justified to ourselves that its better to release them as is so that our guests will not get annoyed scratching on the card just to see the details (but we admit that its a really just a silly excuse). Jay worked on the cutting while Jen focused on the creative design. And here is the fruit of our labor.

VIDEO
We also planned on having a save-the-date video. We initially thought of availing the service of Bliss and Berries for this but decided to do it on our own (budget-related). After scouring the internet for unique ideas, we stumbled upon a stop-motion video on YouTube and decided to create our own version. Jen wanted to display her talent in scrapbook making and Jay wanted to test his skill in video editing. Thus, we both decided to pursue this idea.

Creating this video made us realize and appreciate the hard-work, dedication and passion of stop-motion film-makers. Shooting this video tested our patience, endurance, and team-work. Jen worked on the scrapbook for 2 weeks - squeezing it on her very busy schedule, we shoot the video for 5 hours and Jay worked on the editing for a total of 3 days.

Because we're both beginners on creating a stop-motion video, we realize that we still have a LOT more room to improve on starting on the use of a TRIPOD for our shoot. So for all those who will view our save-the-date video, we really apologize if you will feel a little dizzy after watching it.

It is really hard to fit a 13-year love story on a 3 minute-video. But we hope that you'll get the idea, specially the details of our wedding (just pause the video on 2:50 and 3:01). And here is our video posted on our YouTube channel. Enjoy!

Entourage

Coming up with an entourage is such a difficult task because from childhood to this day, we met different people - at school, work, church, neighborhood. As much as we wanted to include them in the list unfortunately we only have limited slots to fill in. So now, without further ado, we present to you the lovely and handsome cast of our wedding.

Of course, this wedding won’t be possible without the blessing of OUR PARENTS. We are forever indebted to them for loving, caring, educating and molding us to the person we are today. We will always keep in our hearts the values they have taught us. We pray that we’ll be good parents like them or even better.

PARENTS OF THE BRIDE

Wilfredo P. Manuel
Erlinda F. Manuel

We would like to thank also in advance our PRIMARY SPONSORS for accepting our request and even volunteering to be our Godparents. Some people find it hard to accept this kind of request probably because it makes them feel a bit old. But as they say, age comes with wisdom. We know married life won’t be easy but with their guidance, we’ll surely have a smooth and happy family life.

Final list in progress...

For our SECONDARY SPONSORS, it will be a shindig of Jay and Jen’s clan together with our closest and best friends.

Jen love kids so much that she planned to make our wedding sort of a children’s party! Though Jay is a bit hesitant on this, he can’t do anything but to just nod and enjoy the presence of these cute little babies. We’re just crossing fingers that they’ll behave on our wedding and that they will give their best smiles.

Of course, the ceremony won’t be complete without the presence of an officiating minister. Pastor Lito Wang, a former resident Pastor of Sambahang Kristiano sa Parada, will lead the wedding ceremony. He was able to saw Jen grew up and met Jay in one of his church visits. He is such a kind soul and is really thoughtful.

Lastly, we would like to thank these two brave guys in advance for accepting the challenge of hosting our reception program. Kirk is Jay’s cousin and he’s really cool, funny and very spontaneous. We’re so amazed on the way he handles a crowd. The other host, Jasmin, is Jen’s college barkada, she’s a very influential woman adding to the fact that she’s one of the 42 hydrographers in the Philippines (Jen: I’m one proud friend! haha... peace jasmin)

There you go, we might not have the perfect and grandiose entourage, but we’re sure we’ll be surrounded by great people who love us and wish us happiness together! See you guys on 04-04-14.
