Save The Date

PRINT
We really wanted to create a very unique and creative Save-The-Date material. We have researched and discussed various ideas that we found scattering over the internet. After a very lengthy planning, we decided to create a D.I.Y scratch-card-like design. Though plans were already finalized, we have only started on the design after the release of our raw photos taken from our official engagement photo-shoot. And because we started the production late, we decided to forgo the application of acrylic paint to make it really a scratch card just to release them as early as possible to our guests. We even justified to ourselves that its better to release them as is so that our guests will not get annoyed scratching on the card just to see the details (but we admit that its a really just a silly excuse). Jay worked on the cutting while Jen focused on the creative design. And here is the fruit of our labor.

VIDEO
We also planned on having a save-the-date video. We initially thought of availing the service of Bliss and Berries for this but decided to do it on our own (budget-related). After scouring the internet for unique ideas, we stumbled upon a stop-motion video on YouTube and decided to create our own version. Jen wanted to display her talent in scrapbook making and Jay wanted to test his skill in video editing. Thus, we both decided to pursue this idea.

Creating this video made us realize and appreciate the hard-work, dedication and passion of stop-motion film-makers. Shooting this video tested our patience, endurance, and team-work. Jen worked on the scrapbook for 2 weeks - squeezing it on her very busy schedule, we shoot the video for 5 hours and Jay worked on the editing for a total of 3 days.

Because we're both beginners on creating a stop-motion video, we realize that we still have a LOT more room to improve on starting on the use of a TRIPOD for our shoot. So for all those who will view our save-the-date video, we really apologize if you will feel a little dizzy after watching it.

It is really hard to fit a 13-year love story on a 3 minute-video. But we hope that you'll get the idea, specially the details of our wedding (just pause the video on 2:50 and 3:01). And here is our video posted on our YouTube channel. Enjoy!
